Sematext Cloud is a full-stack observability platform that helps developers keep track of logs, metrics, infrastructure, API or website performance, and user experience.
This guide walks you through setting up Sematext’s Vercel Logs integration with your Vercel deployments’ log drains. The log drain will automatically send logs to Sematext where you can debug and troubleshoot issues with the help of full-text search, filtering, tagging, and custom charts for your Vercel logs.
Installing the Sematext Logs Vercel integration can be performed in just a few simple steps.
- Go to the Sematext Logs integration on the Vercel Integrations Marketplace and add it to your Vercel account by clicking the Add Integration button near the top right corner.
- Select the account or team your deployed project belongs to. You will then be redirected to Sematext Logs.
- If you don’t already have a Sematext Cloud account, you’ll be able to register one very quickly by simply providing your desired email and password. Similarly, in case you don't already have an existing Logs App in Sematext Cloud, you can create a new one during the installation process.
- Select the Vercel project and target Sematext Logs App to create a log drain. You can create a single log drain for all your Vercel projects if you want to be able to search across all their logs in one go, or you can create separate log drains for each of your Vercel projects. To decide which approach would work best for you, check out this entry from Sematext’s official FAQ.
By default, you get a set of reports out of the box, with default alert rules to notify you for common errors and timeouts. You can modify, disable, or delete them, and add your own custom alert rules, of course.
All of these steps are also displayed in Sematext Cloud if you create a Vercel Logs App (click here for the EU region) and then follow the on-screen instructions.
This guide shows how to set up the Sematext Logs integration for your Vercel deployments, which will automatically send logs to Sematext Cloud where you can debug and troubleshoot issues with full-text search, filtering, tagging, and custom charts for your Vercel logs.
